What is ‘Redirect Hosting’?
Many games, especially those which use Half-Life, Source, Unreal and Quake game engines are able to send custom content such as sounds, maps and modifications allowing all players to have a similar multiplayer gaming experience on servers which differ from the out-of-the-box game. Unfortunately these custom files transfer very slowly irrespective of the overall connection speed. Settings in the game-server limit the outgoing speed to each player and thus; the map downloads seem to take forever!

Fortunately Clanplanet has the solution.

“Sv_downloadurl” is a setting used in game-server configurations that simply tells players where to fetch files. The files are saved on a website which allows full-speed download of the custom content and it’s all done automatically without the player having to do anything. You have full access to add your own custom files and maps at any time.
