Medal of Honor News
Posted by Diggler - 27/10/2004 14:11

Last week EA announced (yet another) addition to the Medal of Honor franchise, subtitled "Dogs of War". The spring release, stencilled in for PS2, Gamecube and Xbox, apparently "will introduce players to a new way of playing". Hopefully that is EA lingo for "will be better than Rising Sun".

From EA's press release, it hints at more of a solo "covert ops" style of game than the large scale massacres of recent titles, but I could be wrong.

In PC-related news, Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault is also hitting stores on the 4th November in its Director's Edition form. The standard vanilla flavoured version will then follow a few days later on the 9th.

The Director's Edition comes on PC-DVD and features bonus WWII documentaries, behind the scenes concept art, an additional weapon in the game, and an enhanced version of Pacific Assault itself that features pop-up info and factoids as you play. Sounds bizarre, but it's nice to see someone trying something a little different.

Early word also reached us of the forthcoming multiplayer SDK for the title. It'll include an enhanced map editor for creating new levels, a custom weapons kit, and a template creation tool to ease in compatibility.

Here's hoping the game delivers.
