Half-Life 2: Deathmatch Released On Steam

And in that moment, the radiator became the best online weapon ever
Despite previously claiming Counter-Strike Source would be the only online portion of Half-Life 2, Valve surprised us all by releasing a deathmatch mode yesterday.

Admittedly simplistic, this free-for-all mode thankfully includes the gravity gun for some hilarious online toilet-chucking antics. Unfortunately I must say though, the physics calculations bog the game down with huge amounts of lag that wouldn't otherwise be there. This results in little more than a source of fun and amusement than any kind of serious online game.

The full software developer's kit has also been released, with a map making contest to go with it. More details on all of the above can be found by logging into your Steam account, and I'm sure we can expect to see a huge influx of mods from here on out.
