There's been lots going on in the world of gaming shows lately, I figured it was time to bring you all up to speed.
First off, my fave online radio show
Epileptic Gaming is returning after a month long hiatus for a live broadcast this Friday (aka tomorrow). Presenter DJ Wheat had to take time off in order to move house, but he'll be back online with the boys to discuss all of the past month's goings on as well as the latest releases on PC and consoles. Once again, if you're yet to familiarise yourself with the show, hop on over to
Radio Inside the Game and get downloading past eps from the archives. Everyone should really be listening to this by now, it's flippin' brill.
Wheat was also interviewed on TV regarding his career as a gaming commentator recently, which you can catch in QuickTime format on the
Global Gaming League web site. Further proof that competitive gaming is all but a step away from becoming a sport?
Elsewhere, the more amateur yet always entertaining
Video Game Radio is also returning in February, after being offline for almost a year. Founders and co-presenters David and Jeremy are currently sorting out the technicalities of their return, of which you can find out more on by logging into their
forums.
As a show, admittedly it lacks hugely in professionalism compared to Epileptic Gaming, sounding more like it's taped in someone's basement, but it makes up for it in energy, banter and pure info - the boys damn well put me to shame with their never ending gaming knowledge.
Onto TV show news, it appears
Consolevania have added direct download links for their online video show, so no more epic torrent downloads that take forever. I recommend grabbing episode 4 as a nice introduction to newcomers.
And in semi-related Consolevania news, I recently noticed
this oldish post on the RLLMUK Forums spilling that the boys are currently making an independent horror movie.
Finally, I have to mention
Pure Pwnage, another online show which I've recently thrown a link up to. This one's less about games, and more about
gamers. It's a fake documentary series about a pro gamer, following his exploits of "owning noobs" and such. Some of it is hit or miss (namely the Kill Bill parody), but episode 5 is one of the funniest damn things you'll ever see, and will be met with particular glee by Counter-Strike Source fans.
Anyone else running or at least know of any other online gaming shows out there? Drop me a line at the usual address.
