Big Day Tomorrow!
Posted by Diggler - 10/2/2005 11:38

Just a quick reminder to you all, tomorrow sees not only the release of World of Warcraft across Europe, but also the long awaited UK release of Knights of the Old Republic II on PC and Xbox.

Although the consoles have had some absolute beauties to keep them busy recently, on the PC side of things it's all been way too quiet in game land this year. In all honesty, it's a fucking graveyard. These two beauties promise to liven things up no end however, and I can't recommend either enough.

While I got to review Knights of the Old Republic II a while back now, giving it a jolly good recommendation in the process, now that it's finally hitting stores I can't help but feel most will misunderstand this game. I'll stick by my opinion of it 'til I die, but others may find it slightly disappointing. After all, it doesn't reinvent the wheel.

What KOTOR II does is merely enhance and perfect the old KOTOR formula. Think Doom compared to Doom II. Those expecting a brand new cutting-edge RPG would be wise to set their sites lower and enjoy it for what it is; another magical adventure in a universe we all fell in love with in 2003.

I won't be reviewing the PC version of KOTOR II as it's nigh on identical to the Xbox version (bugs included), but as far as World of Warcraft goes, you can expect further coverage on that bad boy very, very soon.
